The Simulation Center is a separate test facility for teams of up to 20 people—designed for realistic test scenarios and efficient project acceptance.

The simulation software, specially developed by gefeba, realistically models the behavior of actuators (valves, motors, actuators) and sensors. Complex plant logic is realistically simulated using mathematical models or nonlinear methods such as polygon chains. This ensures that the control and visualization systems are fully operational and functional even before on-site acceptance testing.
Upon request, we can also integrate the simulation using the Siemens SIMIT simulation platform—with physical or virtual controllers. This allows us to realistically simulate even complex process responses, dynamic sequences, and safety-related scenarios.
This creates a digital twin that:

- Reduces the risk during subsequent plant operation
- Makes inspections more efficient
- Improved knowledge transfer within the project team
A key benefit is the ability to train operators early on in a practical setting—even before any modifications or upgrades are made to the actual plant. Operators work directly on the future control system and can learn all process flows, user interfaces, and procedures in a realistic environment.
Simulation also allows for the testing of special cases, malfunctions, and emergency scenarios that could not be tested—or could only be tested with considerable risk—during actual operation. This safe testing environment makes it possible to practice critical situations, improve response times, and gain confidence in taking appropriate action.
At the same time, early interaction with the system provides valuable feedback on usability and process guidance. The employees who will later work with the system on a daily basis can directly contribute their experiences—and feba can make targeted improvements to controls, visualizations, and workflows even before the retrofit. The result is a system that is not only technically mature but also optimally tailored to the users’ needs.
